School not opening
In the event of the School being unable to open, a message will be broadcast on Radio Berkshire and Heart (102.6 FM) radio stations informing parents and carers of the closure.
If the school has to close during normal hours (for reasons such as a major gas leak in the area), pupils will be kept in school as long as it is deemed to be safe or taken to a place of safety. If the children need to be collected before the end of the school day, the school will contact parents and carers.
If there is an escape from Broadmoor Hospital during the school day, the siren will sound and schools will receive a telephone alert. When this occurs, no child is allowed to leave the school premises unless collected by a parent or other responsible adult named on the form completed for your child during the admission process to the school.
If an alert occurs at any other time, parents would be expected to make there own arrangements for bringing children to and from school and the school will operate normally. (Parents new to the area should also be aware that the siren is tested at 10:00 a.m. each Monday morning).
