Healthy Schools Initiative

We are part of the Healthy Schools Initiative, which aims to ensure children learn and grow in a school where the atmosphere and ethos promote a positive learning environment. We are proud to have achieved ‘National Healthy School’ status.

Projects have included improving playground facilities, easy access to fresh water, promoting the golden rules for behaviour, using circle time, Social & Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL), and we have peer mediators and School Council to give the children an important voice.

We are also using some of our Government Sport’s Funding to provide active/sporty workshops twice a month for all the children.

These have included; Football skills, tag-rugby, hockey, gymnastics, athletics, Skip to be Fit and circus skills.
